Reformed Quote of the Month

"Free will does not enable any man to perform good works, unless he is assisted by grace; indeed, the special grace which the elect alone receive through regeneration. For I stay not to consider the extravagance of those who say that grace is offered equally and promiscuously to all"

      - John Calvin

Excerpts from the Westminster Confession of Faith Shorter Catechism

Q. 21. Who is the Redeemer of God’s elect?

A. The only Redeemer of God’s elect is the Lord Jesus Christ, who, being the eternal Son of God, became man, and so was, and continueth to be, God and man in two distinct natures, and one person, forever.

Portrait of God

Monday Night Bible Study

We will begin a new Bible study using Dr. Richard Pratt's book "Pray With Your Eyes Open" In this book Pratt offers the reader ways to deal with inadequate prayer lives. He offers biblical direction on how to pray more effectively. Key issues such as honest confession of our needs, form and freedom in prayer and questions such as why pray when God will do whatever He pleases anyway are explored. It will begin late June to early July. Check the website, next month's newsletter, or Facebook for the exact date it will begin.
