Christ’s Resurrection: Our Living Hope 4/12/2020

Easter 2020

In 1 Peter 1:1-8, Peter encourages the saints, reminding them that, through Christ’s resurrection, we have been born again to a living hope and an imperishable, undefiled and unfading inheritance that is being kept for us in heaven until Christ’s return. Hope is an important virtue in Scripture. Unlike worldly hope, which is little more than a wish for something to happen that we have little or no reason to expect, biblical hope is the confident expectation of what is sure. It is certain because it anticipates what the Sovereign and faithful Lord of heaven and earth, who works all things according to the counsel of His will, has promised. Biblical hope is a vibrant and vivacious hope.
