Jesus delivers the Great at a defining moment in the history of redemption. The promise of redemption in Christ is the reason that the human race didn't end with the sin of Adam and Eve. Therefore, Jesus is the only reason there is a human history at all. Too often, Christians forget the main story line (the divine story line of redemption) and mistake noble engagement with this passing away world for the Gospel.
