Christ, the Counter Adam 8/16/2020

Philippians

There are two federal heads of humanity, Adam and Christ. Though Adam was a man, with the selfish ambition of empty conceit, he sought to be equal with God. Though the Son was God, in humility, He sacrificed Himself and became man. Under the best of circumstances, Adam failed to obey. Under the most severe of circumstances, Christ obeyed, even to death on the cross. Adam failed to exercise the dominion he was given, placing the human race under the power of the Evil One. Christ exercised dominion, defeating the powers of darkness. Adam selfishly brought death upon his posterity. Christ selflessly secured eternal life for His posterity.
