Baptism, like the preaching of the Word and the Lord's Table, is a means of grace. The blessings and realities of our union with Christ, proclaimed through baptism, are communicated to us when genuine faith is present. While baptism is not the cause of our union, it is a sign and a seal of God's covenant with us.
