Christ's ultimate authority stands behind the Great Commission, guaranteeing the success of the Gospel. Because of that authority, displayed in the lives disciples, they were able to continue their mission despite fierce opposition. Occasionally there were miraculous displays of power but, for the most part, Christ's authority was displayed in their endurance and success, despite their weakness.
