The Arrival of God the Warrior 1/22/2023

Yet I Will Rejoice in the Lord: The Book of Habakkuk

As the prophet Habakkuk mourned over the wickedness in Judah, the Lord answered his prayers with an oracle that included answers to his questions and a vision of God’s work to bring judgment and salvation. In the vision, he sees a theophany of God on the move. When the Lord arrives in Jerusalem, He is set for battle. God is a warrior, fighting against His enemies and for His people. God as a warrior is a biblical theme often ignored in a day in which many refuse to acknowledge any other divine attribute than love. This “love" is defined by their corrupt minds as acceptance and approval of whatever they pursue. The world has made an idol of their perverted understanding of love.
