Christ is in Control 7/15/2012

The Mission of the Church

Despite Christ's preparations, the disciples didn't expect the cross. When Jesus was apprehended and put to death, His disciples experienced a profound crisis of faith. They believed this indicated a triumph of evil and Christ's failure. However, when the resurrected Jesus appeared to the disciples to give them the Great Commission, He began by assuring them that He is in control. His enemies did only what God had determined before hand should occur. The cross was not a failure but a resounding success.
