Zeal for the Father’s Glory 7/1/2018

Christ's High Priestly Prayer

Christ prays that the Father would glorify Him (in the cross) because that would glorify the Father. A biblical definition of glory is "weighty and substantial character often displayed in great and mighty acts worthy of renown.” The glory of God was fully displayed In the cross, resurrection and exaltation of Christ. Jesus was zealous for the Father’s glory even though it meant facing the horrors of God’s wrath as He offered Himself, fulfilling His purpose as the Lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world.
