For quite some time the prophet Habakkuk had been praying for God to intervene over Judah’s descent into deep, dark depravity. Yet, things continued to get worse. He cries out for the Lord, complaining about the Lord’s silence and seeming failure to take action. As the Lord answers, the prophet comes to realize that God is working out His righteous purpose and responds by rejoicing in the God of his salvation.
