The Urgent Appeal to Agree in the Lord 6/20/2021

Philippians

In Philippians 4:1-2, Paul addresses a serious problem within the congregation at Philippi. After a moving display of his concern and affection for these saints, he urges them to stand firm in the Lord (4:1). Then he directly addresses two influential ladies in the church who were quarreling (4:2). Enemy opposition is most subtle when the Evil One is able to create dissension among God’s people. For their own sake and the sake of the whole congregation, Paul appeals to them with a sense of urgency to settle their differences and come to agreement.
