Being Like-Minded in the Lord 6/27/2021

Philippians

The church at Philippi was a mature and well-grounded congregation. They had stood firm against opposition from the world and false doctrine. However, there was one battlefront on which they were losing ground. A dispute between two prominent ladies in the church was causing division within the congregation. Paul urges them to be like-minded in the Lord. The phrase “in the Lord” points to that which unites all who are in Christ. Our unity is not based upon race, politics, personal opinion, common interests, etc. Our unity is rooted in the saving work of Christ. Being “like-minded” is thinking like Christ and adopting His attitude of humility toward one another.
