The Gospel Call 3/25/2012

The Gospel is central to Christianity. It defines who we are and what we are about. God has entrusted the Gospel to His people and we are responsible for proclaiming it accurately and faithfully.

In the past 150 years, the Gospel appeal has been reshaped by innovation driven by pragmatism. Such modern methods compromise the purity of the Gospel. Following Paul's instruction in 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6, we consider what constitutes a faithful and pure presentation of the Gospel. The Gospel is not a suggestion or enticement but a call to repentance and faith. It is an official summons to be reconciled to God; a command to believe and repent.
