Matthew ends his Gospel account with a breathtaking promise from Christ to His disciples: "Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This promise of Christ's presence applies to all of His disciples in every generation. The Great Commission (make disciples of all nations) is supported by the Great Claim (Christ's absolute authority in heaven and on earth) and affirmed by the Great Assurance (Christ will be with us always).
