The hinge on which the Gospel turns is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The Christian faith is not a philosophy but a historic reality. God, in Christ, broke into time and space to accomplish our redemption. He died to provide forgiveness of sin, was buried in our place and rose again that we might have eternal life. As Paul argues in 1 Corinthians 15, without the resurrection, there is no Gospel.
