God’s glory refers to His weighty and substantial character from which His righteous purpose arises. In John 17:22, Jesus says He gives His people the glory the Father gave to Him. This is the glory given to Jesus in His humanity. Christ images the glory of God that humanity was designed to reflect. Christ gives us the glory of the Father by revealing Him to us and renewing God’s image in us.
