Sir, We Would See Jesus 5/28/2023

Jordan McGehee Ordination Service

After Jesus’ triumphal entry, Gentiles approached Phillip and said, “Sir, we would see Jesus.” When Christ was told, He said the time had come for Him to be glorified by being lifted upon the cross that He might draw all men (people from every tribe, tongue, and nation) to Himself. Following the Reformation, many churches posted plaques with this saying on their pulpits to remind ministers to preach Christ, not themselves (2 Cor 4:5). The voice of Christ is heard in the hearts of the elect whenever Christ is faithfully preached. The Word of God is sufficient for all that is needed for life and godliness.
