Destined for Affliction 11/19/2023

The Church of Thessalonica

In 1 Thessalonians 3:3, Paul warns against being moved by afflictions. The Apostle was concerned that the enemy might use the relentless persecution and trouble to shake the confidence of the saints and tempt them and draw them away. Paul reminds them that such affliction is to be expected. God uses affliction to work in us a far more exceeding weight of glory. Affliction is normal for the Christian living in a rebellious world of sin. Having come to Christ, we are destined for it.
