In Christ’s prayer, He says that the world hates His followers because they are not of the world just as Jesus is not of the world. In Matthew 10, He tells His disciples the world will hate them because the world hates Him. The world hates Jesus because He is the light that exposes sin. Though the world hates us, we must proclaim the Gospel with grace and repay evil with good. In answer to Christ’s prayer, the Father keeps us from the evil one.
