Serving Christ in the Workplace 9/24/2017

Ephesians

Underlying Paul’s instruction to slaves and masters in Ephesians 6:5-9 are broader principles of Christian conduct for earthly enterprise. The same temptations that slaves and masters faced can plague employees and employers in our day. Paul tells those who labor to obey, giving their masters respecting by looking beyond them to Christ, our ultimate master. Service is to be rendered without duplicity or ulterior motive, working diligently whether or not the boss is watching. The goal is not to garner the praise of men but the praise of our Lord.
