Jesus was unique, not only in His person but in HIs mission.  He alone could effect salvation in the lives of His people. However, there are aspects of His Work and mission He graciously shares wth those He came to save.  In Mark 6:7-13, the twelve disciples receive their first commission as Christ’s Apostles. Jesus grants them authority and gives them their marching orders. It is delegated authority and power that belongs to Christ.  They are to proclaim the Gospel, heal the sick, and cast out unclean spirits.  Jesus is sending them as His emissaries.  As with Christ’s own ministry, the miracles and power over unclean spirits was in service of the Gospel, confirming the truth of the Good News of salvation.
