In Ephesians 5:18, Paul contrasts the degrading lifestyle of intoxication with a lifestyle filled by the Spirit. The Apostle commands us not to come under the inebriating power of anything in this world but rather yield ourselves to the controlling influence of the Spirit who is working God’s will within His people.
