"Worship wars” is a hot topic among today’s evangelicals. However, the true worship war is not about style, but substance. The war began in Eden with Satan’s attempt to rob God of the glory due His name. Before the Fall, Adam and Eve communed freely with God in Eden. After the Fall, humanity was banished from God’s presence. Redemption required God coming to us. He came to His elect in various degrees under the Old Covenant but, when Christ came, He fully opened the way into the throne of grace, restoring worship in God’s presence. This restored worship will find its fulfillment in the new heavens and the new earth where God will dwell among His people.
