The cross of Christ was not an accident or a readjustment of God's plan. It was the divine purpose from eternity past. The babe born in Bethlehem and laid in the manger was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. To try and separate the manger from the cross is to gut the Gospel and turn the season of Advent into a humanistic philosophy of false hope.
