The book of Habakkuk is a journal describing the oracle he received in dialogue with God concerning Judah’s sin. The Lord assures the prophet that He is coming to chastise His people, judge the Babylonians for their evil intent, and restore Judah. The vision is given in apocalyptic language describing how God intervenes in creation to judge wickedness and save the elect, culminating with the coming of Christ.
