Walk as Children of Light 2/19/2017

Ephesians

What is a Christian? The book of Ephesians offers a great resource for outlining an answer to that important question. The first half of the book establishes the objective reality of God’s purpose and work in redemption while the last half addresses our subjective experience of that salvation. One can only walk as a child of light if the light of God has transformed the heart. The fruit of light refers to the virtues that characterize the words and deed of the Christian, while the words and deeds of the unregenerate are described as the unfruitful works of darkness. In Scripture, truly “good” works are the result of God’s work within His people, while evil, worthless deeds are the product of the unredeemed heart.
