The oneness of Christians, both with the Triune God and one another, is very important to Jesus. Our Lord states this as the goal of His petitions in four different purpose clauses. The breadth of our oneness extends to every aspect of our lives and includes diverse people from all over the world. In Christ, we are reconciled with God and this unity with Him unites us to all who are in Christ.
