In Eph 6, Paul explains that the Christian’s warfare is not with flesh and blood. It is a spiritual battle. The only offensive weapon in the armor of God is "the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” In 1 Tim 3:16-17, Paul explains that Scripture equips us in every way. In 2 For 10, Paul explains that our spiritual weaponry (our sword) destroys the strongholds of arguments and lofty opinions raised against the knowledge of God. For some, this leveling of opposition to the truth will mean their salvation as every thought is taken captive to Christ. For others, it will expose the fallacious nature of their arguments and stop the mouths of those who oppose the truth of God.
