In Paul’s instruction on spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:10-20) we find that the armor of God and devout prayer are essential for standing fast in the evil day. Prayer is the vehicle through which the armor is appropriated. We call on God for the strength, wisdom and endurance necessary to prevail. Prayer is not a weapon; it is the arena in which the battle is fought.
