Fallen humanity is relentless in their quest to remake God in our sin corrupted image. God is righteous, pure and holy. While God the Son became flesh, He imaged God perfectly, remaining righteous, pure and holy. He humbly came in the likeness of sinful flesh that He might redeem us and conform us to His righteous image. While the Son temporally set aside His heavenly glory, He never ceased to be God. Being both God and man, Christ’s humanity made it possible for Him to be our representative, offering Himself in our place with His deity making His sacrifice sufficient for all He came to save. The wonder of the incarnation is that God would stoop so low to save an unworthy people.
