In the first 5 verses of John 17, as Jesus is praying to the Father, we see a condensed version of the unfolding of the Covenant of Redemption. This covenant was established between the members of the Trinity before the foundation of the world. Because redemption is the cooperative work of the Godhead, the glorification of the elect and the renewal of the heavens and the earth is certain.
