In John 17:6, Jesus says He has revealed the Father’s name to the people given to Him out of the world. This is essentially the same as glorifying the Father in the earth by accomplishing the work He gave the Son to do. In Scripture, God’s name refers to all that He is in Himself just as glorifying God is acknowledging who He is and what He has done. Both God’s glory and His name are revealed through the covenants by which He accomplishes His purpose of redeeming a people for Himself.
