In Philippians 2:6-11, not only does Christ’s condescension teach us how to walk in humility, His exaltation does as well. As Christ said, the one who exalts himself will be debased and the one who humbles himself will be exalted. The Son humbled Himself (2:6-8) and after reaching the lowest depths of His condescension, the Father highly exalted Him. Humility receives from God what selfish ambition and empty conceit can never achieve.
