In Ephesians 5:15-21, the main command is to “be filled with the Spirit.” Throughout the passage, Paul demonstrates how the spiritual life is orderly and not foolish and chaotic. Those who are “filled with the Spirit” will give careful attention to living wisely. They will seek to understand the will of the Lord, giving thanks for everything and submitting themselves to God’s orderly arrays of authority.
