At the end of John 17:23, Jesus makes an astounding statement. The Father loved His people even as He loved the Son. The conjunction translated “even as” means, “in equal measure” or “to an equal degree.” The Father loves us “even as” He loves Christ because we are in Christ. As the Apostle Paul says in Eph 3, the measure of that love is beyond our comprehension.
