In Philippians 2:7, we’re told that, in Christ’s condescension and humiliation, He emptied Himself. This does not mean that He ceased to be deity. In the context of the passage, the contrast is between our “empty glory” and Christ’s emptying Himself of the expression of fullness of glory which was rightfully His.
