On the Sunday before Jesus was crucified, He entered Jerusalem, seated on a donkey’s colt in fulfillment of the prophecy of Zech 9. There were throngs of people welcoming Him into the city, rightly proclaiming Him King. However, He was not the King they expected. They were looking for a political deliverer but Christ had come to conquer a much greater foe - sin, death and the devil. He was not the King they wanted but He was the King we all need.
