Habakkuk’s encounter with God has changed him. He is no longer plagued by an anguished sense of desperation. He will quietly wait for the day of deliverance. However, this period of quiet waiting will span a time of unprecedented affliction in Judah. He will be able to calmly endure this affliction because he trusts in the Lord who promises to preserve His people.
