Habakkuk knows that Jerusalem is about to be invaded by the Babylonians and left in ruins. Having the assurance of God’s future deliverance, he will quietly wait, enduring the days of affliction. Despite the hard times coming, he will rejoice with transcendent joy. His joy is not in his circumstances but in the God of our salvation.
