The joy of motherhood is rooted in creation with the fulfillment of God's purpose while the pain of motherhood issues from the Fall. The pain God pronounced in the Fall encompasses the whole process of rearing a child from conception to adulthood. This pain is not primarily physical but emotional. By the grace of God we can see His glory, even in the pain.
