When Jesus delivered the Great Commission to His disciples, He declared that, since He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, they should therefore go and make disciples of all nations. There is a direct link between Christ's received authority and the disciples' global mission that is grounded in redemptive history. Jesus, in His humanity, finally succeeds where all others before Him had failed.
