In Philippians 2:5, Paul is transitioning from his exhortation to humility and unity to a hymn of Christ that provides and example of how to live as Christians. Paul says, “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” The word “mind” refers a way of thinking, an attitude, a disposition. In 2 Tim 2:26 we find that God’s gift of repentance results in “coming to our senses.” Our minds are being renewed as we come to think sanely about God, ourselves and the way we should treat one another.
