In Phil 3:17-19, Paul contrasts godly examples with examples we must not follow. With a broken heart, he continues to warn the Body of Christ of “enemies of the cross of Christ.” These may be legalists, libertines, prosperity preachers or any one who adds to, takes away from or falsely represents the perfect work of Christ’s atonement. In the passage, Paul lists four prominent characteristics of such enemies of the cross.
