In Phil 3:17-21, Paul contrasts godly examples with the example of false brethren we must avoid. The enemies of the cross live as citizens of this world while our citizenship is in heaven. We are called to live as strangers and exiles who represent the Kingdom of heaven in a world of defiant sinners.
