The final woe against Babylon is a condemnation of idolatry. False gods are nothing more than gods of our own making. They cannot speak. Their voice is the voice of their maker. It is self-delusion. However, the true and living God not only speaks, He speaks the truth with ultimate authority. Once God has delivered His verdict, there is nothing more to be said. All the earth must be silent before Him!
