All of humanity is born blind in heart. In Ephesians 1:17-18, Paul prays that God will, by the Holy Spirit, grant wisdom and insight to the saints. Having had the eyes of their heart enlightened, they are now in a position to grow in their knowledge of God. The Apostle is concerned that the glorious theology of the opening doxology would be realized in the lives of God’s people.
