In Ephesians 6, Paul addresses the issue of spiritual warfare. He calls upon Christians to be clothed with the armor of God in order to stand against the schemes of the devil. The devil’s schemes are carefully investigated, well-planned, methodical and cunning plans designed to harm and deceive. In Ephesians, Paul highlights three particular areas of assault - false doctrine, anger and division. Scripture shows us that Satan is so cunning, he often approaches these areas from various and even opposing angles. We cannot withstand his schemes by studying Satan’s tactics. Our minds must be renewed on God’s Word so we can be discerning. Nonetheless, while our attention is to be focused on God and His Word, we must be alert to the enemy's schemes.
