In Ephesians 6:13, Paul calls for us to withstand the pressure we will face in the evil day. The “evil day” is not simply the intense persecution at the end of the age but any critical moment when Satan tries to deceive us with his crafty schemes. As we learn from Satan’s temptations of Christ, the enemy looks for opportune times to attack. He looks for moments we are weak, isolated, exhausted or discouraged; moments when we’re not praying or worshipping or renewing our minds as we should. We must be alert and withstand his cunning assaults.
