In Christ’s High Priestly Prayer, He says that the world hates His people but He is not asking the Father to take us out of the world, but that He keep us from the evil one. We remain in the world for a time that we might be Christ’s witnesses to the world. Christ’s prayer reminds us that our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil.
