Philippians 1:27-2:18 is an extended admonition on the importance of living in a manner consistent with the Gospel. Along with Paul’s practical instruction urging Christian unity, the admonition speaks to our purpose, our Trinitarian blessing that unites us, the humiliation and exaltation of Christ and the importance of an eternal perspective. The Apostle unites all of these themes urging the saints to follow Christ’s example of humility and faithfulness.
